the website:

This site was created as a conduit for presenting the author's studies in the field of jumbology, particularly as they pertain to the Hoyt-Knurek Paradigm1.  The author's focus exclusively on this paradigm is not in any way meant to diminish the groundbreaking work of Naydel, nor that of any of his creative progeny working prior to the collaborative efforts of Knurek and Hoyt, nor should it imply that the work of those who follow Knurek and/or Hoyt will not potentially merit analysis at some future time, possibly even using the same methods suggested here, regardless of whether those followers continue their practice within the framework of the Hoyt-Knurek Paradigm, or are even the literal progeny2 of Hoyt or Knurek.

In addition, it should not be assumed that because this site is called "jumbology" and focuses exclusively on a Hoyt-Knurek Paradigm-centered analysis that all of jumbology proper is therefore based in the Hoyt-Knurek Paradigm. In fact, quite the opposite should be so. The Hoyt-Knurek Paradigm is in fact only a subset of all jumbology, even as it might pertain to Knurek and Hoyt themselves or even a jumbological analysis of their work exclusively. Thus it should also not be assumed that the "Hoyt-Knurek Paradigm" as considered here as a scholarly term created by the author for the purposes of analysis and explanation is the sum of all potential paradigms which consider the phenomenology, patterns, or practices of Knurek and Hoyt, within or without the study of jumbology.

All things considered, however, it can be assumed within the context of this website, that all references to "Hoyt-Knurek Paradigm" here do refer specifically and exclusively to the scholarly meaning of that term as defined by the author in the footnotes of this site. It may also be assumed that all references to "jumbology" on this site in general, unless specifically stated otherwise, will in fact be viewed and considered exclusively using the Hoyt-Knurek Paradigm model.

_____________________

1 A framework for viewing and analyzing the collaborative jumbological works of David Hoyt and Jeff Knurek, which considers both the overt textual and hidden subtextual meanings of text and image, both alone and in concert, with a special emphasis on the individual phenomenological experiences brought to bear by each auteur individually and in relationship to one another, as well as with their outside culture and perceived media consumers. Considerations include but are not exclusive to the physical, contextual, psycho-social and even spiritual experiences of Hoyt and Knurek as it relates to their work, culture, and the experience as viewed by their collective viewing audience.

2 A reasonable consideration, given the historical context of both their media and their textual placement in Western society.
